With green energy as its core focus, Prometheus Fund evaluates investments in high-quality early stage domestic projects, high-quality overseas assets, and energy block chain. The team has a deep understanding of the global integration needs of industrial leaders, closely follows the global integration trends involving China, and does primary work in the areas of green energy, new materials and artificial intelligence.

We are a group of seasoned professionals with rich and diverse experience in the international equity market. Our investment strategy focuses on three areas that are creating the foundation of the future: new materials, new energy and new algorithms.

Our LPs are family offices and listed companies. By building and managing one master investment portfolio with a global value chain approach, we optimize the value of the natural resources, raw materials, R&D, manufacturing technology and end markets.

An example where we can apply our value integration investment strategy is the robotics and mobility markets, where we apply a unique lens to envision a future enabled by technology that will fundamentally change the landscape for cars, buses, trains, cruise ships and cities. To date, the Prometheus team has been involved in projects focused on development of autonomous cars, wall climbing robots, and drones, and are actively evaluating many more.

We primarily focus on private equity investments, but can assist our portfolio companies with fixed income financing. We can also provide, interim management capability to our clients.

Sector Fund : New Energy

New Energy Sector Fund, raised by a leading domestic solar player and Prometheus, invests in overseas projects—including power plants, operators—to improve funder's position in global solar industry. OECD countries are the main markets. Minimum size is RMB 10 million or USD 2 million.

Sector Fund : New Material

New Materials Sector Fund, raised by Prometheus, with focus on lightweight transportation tools. Two other focus areas are materials related to semiconductors and rare earth. Main investment is in new material development and applications. 10 million RMB is designated for each project.

Sector Fund : New Algorithum

Artificial Intelligence Sector Fund, raised by a top navigation map company and a leading supplier of rail transit equipment, invests in the industrial chain of A. I. and autonomous driving. Selected projects in fund portfolio are potential M&A targets for listed companies. Fund size is RMB 1.5 billion.

Chenhao Zhang CFA
President

Chenhao Zhang leads Prometheus-fund.
His core investment areas are energy, semiconductors, manufacturing and blockchain.
Prior to founding Prometheus-fund, Chenhao served as managing director of Pacific Epoch, a Pacific Crest Securities company. He also served global investors investing into Chinese technology space as a vice president at a Goldman Sachs division for 5 years.
Before his investment career, Chenhao was a journalist for the Financial Times and DowJones Newswire in China;
Chenhao holds a CFA charter. He gained a BA in economics from the University of Western Ontario and MA in economics from the University of Toronto.
